This 14-mile trek has everything you could want from a hike, including a waterfall, flowing creek, challenging incline, and working toilets both in the parking lot and at the summit. The views from the top are pretty great, too - there's a reason there's an Observatory up there!
This is the first peak of the six-pack, and you'll climb 4,000 feet of elevation to reach the 5,710 foot summit. You can read more about the hike here.
An Adventure Pass is required for parking; you can get day passes or annual passes at REI and Big 5. This hike can also get very buggy - bring bug spray, mosquito nets, and anything else you need to remain comfortable.
This hike is not recommended for beginners. It is recommended that each hiker bring the 10 essentials. Though we will not leave anyone behind, hikers often get separated, and it is always smart to have your own map, food, sunscreen, and basic first aid on hand.
It is REQUIRED that each hiker bring at least 2 liters of water - I will be checking! This is for your safety as well as the safety of the group.
