This is a 10-mile hike with 2,900 feet of elevation gain - it is the highest peak in the city limits of Los Angeles! It's definitely a city hike - be prepared for a skyline of radio towers at the summit - but has a variety of scenic terrain including steep switchbacks, a wooded canyon, and a running stream. That said, most of the route is sun-exposed, so bring your SPF!
This hike is not recommended for beginners. It is recommended that each hiker bring the 10 essentials. Though we will not leave anyone behind, hikers often get separated, and it is always smart to have your own map, food, sunscreen, and basic first aid on hand.
It is REQUIRED that each hiker bring at least 2 liters of water - I will be checking! This is for your safety as well as the safety of the group.
